Gippsland Water Factory

TSF Power designed and constructed the extension to the waste gas standby power generation facility at the Gippsland Water Factory in Victoria. The new power generation system is supplied with biogas from the wastewater treatment facility to the incidence of greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere. The Gippsland Water Factory is an award winning and internationally recognised facility that comprises two wastewater treatment plants sharing common infrastructure. It treats 35 million litres of wastewater a day from nine towns in central Gippsland and serves the needs of more than 48,000 domestic customers and 300 local businesses.

Melbourne Airport Trigeneration Plant

TSF Power designed and constructed the tri-generation power facility at Melbourne Airport to reduce energy usage and cut costs, whilst providing vital emergency back-up power supply in the event of loss of mains power. This complex project required meticulous planning and careful design to ensure it met the stringent performance criteria and adhered to strict planning and regulatory guidelines. The 8MW facility generates electrical power and also produces steam that either warms the airport terminals in winter or converts to cooling to produce chilled water via absorption to cool the terminals in summer. In addition to providing a vital source of independent power to essential facilities in the event of the loss of mains power, the new facility will help reduce energy consumption by generating in parallel with the grid supply during peak periods and deliver an estimated saving of some 920,000 tonnes of CO2 over its fifteen year life span, as Melbourne airport progressively moves towards carbon neutrality.
